This route is somewhat like

Infra-Red Ridinghood

but at the 'opposite end of the spectrum', being a 100% ground-up, natural, trad route.

This route has reasonably good and fun moves, but it is marred by an inconsistent grade, as a low and high crux are separated by a juggy slab. The upper section could still use a bit of a brushing, but it is now clean enough to climb comfortably. Enjoy the surprisingly sequential, upper crux with pretty good protection.

This is located on the Upper Wall of the Clock Tower. This is the furthest route to the right, just up and right of the main roof routes. The bottom of the route is fairly simple, but the upper half, using the crack (partial hand jam) is the crux indeed. Reaching that jug by the 6th bolt may be harder than it looks. Perhaps this is the only route I have climbed in the Sport Park that could use the rating upped a grade or so. 5.10b.

Scramble up some easy rock to a ledge, then follow pockets and underclings to a left-facing dihedral/flake. Rolofson's guidebook gives the climb 12c, but this must be a misprint. The climb is closer to 11a than 12c and is not much harder than

, it's much nicer to move onto the face right of the arete after clipping the second bolt. Clip a shoulder length sling to bolt #4 (or chain some quickdraws), then head up and left to the enjoyable headwall of

This quality climb is a good introduction to the  steep routes on the Clock Tower's imposing roof.  It starts a few feet to the right of the large  tree that greets you as soon as you get to the  base of the wall by coming up the trail.  Ignore  the tree placement in Rolofson's new guidebook, as  he has it too far to the right.  	Anyways, the route climbs well-protected 5.11 moves  through a small roof before topping out on a slab.   Find the handy no-hands rest after pulling the  roof and chalk up well so you don't grease off the  slab moves.

crux wasn't in the realm of 10d/11a, so I downclimbed, went left, and finished this variation.

This cleverly named pitch has three "5.11" sections broken up by no hands rest ledges.  It is the next route left from

Mother Goose

.  The bottom is awkward and slightly dangerous and the top is slabby and uninspiring.  Don't waste your time.

Easy climbing above and below, use a left calf hook to set up moving through gritty sloper and big gaston at roof, and a physical move above the roof.

Climb the slightly overhanging wall up the obvious black streak. Continuous with a crux towards the top. I'm not 100 percent sure this is chipped, but some of the holds are very suspect, and going with the Sport Park's track record, I think it's a safe bet there chipped. The moves are fun and big with a crimpy crux up top. The rock is really good as well. It is worth getting on.

This is the leftmost bolted line on the upper tier of The Clock Tower. It is fun, juggy, and worth a run if you are in the area. Originally, it was rated 12a (relayed verbally by a BC guidebook author who led me up it), but I think that was perhaps due to lack of cleaning. It requires more power than technique with a good rest. 11- seemed more grounded.

Addendum: this is a height-dependent climb. Shorter folks may think the rating is noticeably stouter.

This climb starts on the upper tier of the Clock Tower, a bit left of the mid-point on the crag. A single hard pull (5.11c) up a blankish start leads to a good ledge and a very long reach to a decent horn, a very height-dependent move, and the crux at 5.11+ (but look at the comments). Haul up over the horn to great 5.11 face climbing on excellent edges and deep, incut flakes.

It is a great climb worth all three stars for the climbing moves, continuity, and quality of the stone.

Salad Shooter is just right of

Pump Truck

and may share some holds near the start.  It is noted by the giant hamhock/pinch you get for you left hand between bolts 3 and 4.  Climb up and do the boulder problem into the roof with the final blind throw around the bulge to snag a sloper.  Once mantled, continue up the 5.5 to the anchors.  All said, the crux is short but fun.  It would definitely have more stars if it were longer.

The 4th bolt is a little tough to clip without a longer draw on it.

Go out the big roof right of

Jolly Jug

via ugly, chipped holds.  This is a disgrace, but what are you gonna do?  It's pretty fun movement anyway.  The crux involves a sidepull crimp and a weird mantle-type thing, which can be avoided by moving left onto

Jolly Jug

.  Rolofson thinks the direct way is .12d, but that seems soft even for the Sport Park.  Whatever.

Scramble up blocks to a ledge just below the bolts. There are 2 options for the start: you can climb straight up to a broad horizontal between the first two bolts, or start in a corner farther left and clip the first bolt of

Hee Haw

. Either way, after reaching the horizontal move up right to a shallow left-facing corner with fun moves. The corner ends in a small roof - pulling this is the crux.

This is a short climb but has good moves for its length.

On the right hand trail that leads up to the right side of The Clock Tower sits an obvious prow. Climb from a standing start with a RH edge and a LH seam/pinch. Cool moves!

Located on the Upper Wall of the Clock Tower, this route is the 2nd route from the far right side of the face. The first bolt will be obvious as it is almost on the ground, but could come in handy. A bouldery start, leading to a mantle brings you to the PG-13 part. If you are short, (under 5'9") clipping the 3rd bolt will require you to make an extra move and would indeed be a groundfall. Be careful. The upper face is a jug haul as stated in the guidebook.

If you climb 5.12 or if you are looking to grab your first one, try this route out.  Very cool and  fun moves carry you up and over a prominent roof on an obvious line up the Clock Tower's Upper Wall.

The climb starts directly in front of the tree that's about 10 feet out from the wall, at the bottom of a prominent triangular flake covered in bat crap. If you are wondering why there are no branches on the tree on the side that faces the wall, just fall off the route while on TR. Swinging out from under the overhang and into its upper branches will give the term "tree hugging" an entirely new meaning. Once you tire of battling the tree while trying to swing back onto the rock, clip the rope through the bolt just beneath the roof. This should keep you from swinging out while practicing the lower part of the route. The tree will thank you. Again, I'm sorry to report that there is a chipped hold in the middle of the route below the large horn.

In the various shades of grey for route modification, this route lies on the extreme end of the continuum.  The crux consists of big moves over a huge roof on drilled holds, including a shaped jug horn (shared with the route

Hair Shirt

) that is one of the most blatantly manufactured holds I've ever seen.  On a lot of the routes on the Clock Tower, there are holds you wonder about, but seem (and probably are) natural... not this one.

As for physical movement, the climb is worthy of a star or two... a lot of people will like this route.  I even thought it was fairly solid for the grade by Boulder Canyon standards, and downright sandbagged for the Clock Tower.

Go Dog Go climbs Butt Luscious, including its "12a/b" crux (really more like 11c/d), to the rest scoop at two-thirds height.  From the scoop, B.L. continues up the line of weakness to the top, whereas G.D.G. heads left up a line of VERY closely spaced bolts (4 within 10 feet!).  A thin short crux brings one to the anchors.  Most people will find it more trouble than it's worth to clip the 2nd to last bolt.

Besides the fact that there are probably a few too many bolts, this is probably one of the best routes on the Clock Tower, which isn't saying a whole lot. Except for the questionable hole at the start of Butt Luscious, it appears natural, more or less.  The grade is probably more like 12a or b.
